The first months of the Ukrainian-Russian war have shown that the country’s vital activity is largely supported by the activity and self-organization of local self-government. It is the municipalities that have taken on most of the tasks in the humanitarian sphere, accepting the flow of refugees from the war, ensuring the functioning of the system of life of cities and villages, and helping the territorial defence and the army.
Many communities were occupied by Russian troops or subjected to devastating shelling. Russia’s armed aggression has not only killed thousands of civilians but destroyed the infrastructure of cities and villages. Today, Ukrainian communities receive a lot of humanitarian support from European countries, which allows them to quickly restore life in the territories affected by the war. Ukrainians are very grateful to the citizens and governments of these countries for their help.
Ukraine will be facing a process of reconstruction and revival. Rebuilding the country will be largely embodied by municipalities that need high-quality European experience, the latest conceptual approaches and architectural solutions in building a new country. The full restoration of the vital activities of the affected communities will include the actual renewal and use of integrated planning spaces not only for the restoration of communal, economic and social infrastructure but also for the further development of communities.
ALL-UKRAINIAN ASSOCIATION OF ATC on behalf of 700 communities of its members aims to help Ukrainian municipalities find and establish lasting partnerships with communities of friendly countries.
The municipalities represented on this site are ready to start a partnership and long-term cooperation. This would give an invaluable impetus to the revival of Ukrainian communities affect by the war.
